SUZANNE'S RESEARCH

Ray Chopping had two friends from the Sevenoaks British Legion, Sculptor Pat Moore and Artist Ramon Higgs. They drafted a few ideas, and Tony Woolven turned them into construction plans, from which with a bit of photoshop work from a picture of the Parish Church Hall, we have a mock-up picture of what the memorial may look like in the various venues.

 RAMON & TONY'S PLANS

The response to our consultation was overwhelmingly 162 in favour of the Western Rd site. See all results and comments .  [Consultation Documents]

There was a strong will for Borough Green to have War Memorial that gathers together all the names of those who died in conflicts around the world, and who would regard as their home what is now the Civil Parish of Borough Green. We have a Committee, we have funding, and the first round of consultations threw up 5 possible sites, listed below. If you click on each title, you will find a mockup picture, a few pros and cons, and a location map for each site.

We are indebted to Suzanne Young who has put in an enormous amount of voluntary research into the names, and the link below lists them to date. Have a read through them, and if you have any further names, or information about those on the list, email us . Suzanne has so much information, that she is compiling what could end up as a book, and definitely enough material for a new War Memorial website.
