Comments:Thinking further about Fred's comments - whilst it is true that slowing traffic increases pollution, it is a judgement call between the risk of a slow death by asphyxiation weighed against the immediate risk of death by speeding idiots. Answer - wear body armour and a breatjing mask

Comments:In actual fact it is not KCC to blame for the Red Lion roundabout (for once) it is the bodge-it contractors employed by the developer. I understand there is legal action to get it completed properly. Regards A25 roadworks - the speed was unacceptable, as was the road surface - how do they repair the surface without closing the road, Brainiac? I would have preferred a daytime road closure, but mustn't upset motorists, must we? I don't know if it will solve the speeding problems, but at least KCC are trying. It would also be good to get rid of the pillocks who park on the pavement, but the Police don't want to upset them. And motorists think they are persecuted , what about the residents?

Comments:I wonder how many people who read these ramblings have been informed of what is going to take place caused by the Parish councillors folly ?that access A25 Fact 20 mph speed limit it is a proven that this speed is more of a pollutant but what do I know !. Chicanes speed bumps useless cars just go over them. Householders living along the A25 Sevenoaks & Maidstone will have seven nights of sleep deprivation. How many have been informed by letter that as of the 24 April 2017 the A25 will be closed to all traffic from 2000 hrs and 0600hrs for up to seven nights. Not only is it likely that you will not be able to get into or out of your roads or property they can prepare themselves for seven sleepless nights, And Paddy o jobs worth " Sure ye,s cant come down here roads close so it tis " . The rest of use will be robbed blind all because of the KCC and a few of the local councillors can not solve the traffic problems and it will come from our rates make no mistake .hey !ho wha

Comments:last November I complained about the road markings on the round about outside the old Red lion pub that looks more like a pimple on a rats posterior. Well it has now practically worn away traffic can be seen going to the right of it ,over the top, with no decrease in speed ,An accident just waiting to happen. I have complained 4 times to date. But our wonderful k c c sit on the fat bottoms and twiddle there thumbs hoping things will not happen, must save the for our wage rise attitude . I wish I could share there confidence in the average driver/commuter

Comments:Further to my last, I decided to do a survey I collected number plates of 4x4 in the library /village hall carpark To my surprise surprise the majority of 4x4 driven by the D F L types are company cars not owned by the driver but owned by there spouses companies that they are employed with .Don't ask how I came by this information but it does not take rocket science to obtain this information just knowing the right people of the old Regiment if you catch my drift . And whilst on the subject Thursdays between 1600hrs -1700hrs in the village hall car park is code red +5 if you want a dent /scratch don't park here .

Comments:Very Passionate, Mike, but in fact the bulk of the FWDs are home grown - never see any mud, but its about perceived status, not practicality - the fact is they don't know how to drive them. It is comical to watch them trying to negotiate narrow bits like Station Rd. Regarding road works - the majority of the village want traffic slowed down, and although the scheme is experimental, even the road works slow them down.

Comments:What with the road works, The new buildings ,and the lack of Public houses to drowned ones sorrows in we now have something else that's hit the village. It is totally useless lays around like dust , Drives a 4X4 And is referred to by many as a D F L (Down from London) can be seen clogging the carparks of the plastic pubs at week ends not to mention the country lanes , Tends to be very loud and well heled , "don't you know darling" . And if that lot does not make you depressed the councillors folly will, Six or eight weeks of hell on the A25 from skew bridge to dark hill. And at the completion we will have a nice smooth pot hole free road surface with lots of obstacles dotted here and there to slow the traffic . Then paddy will turn up within a month to dig it up again. Bugger it I'm off to New Zealand had enough .

Comments:Blue Bear - responding to first comment, could not agree more, provided by immigration you mean all outsiders moving into the village. Regarding public money and the War Memorial, I can assure you that waste of public money is a constant bane of mine, and if you went a little deeper into our history you would we are called the DIY village because we take on these projects ourselves, saving a lot of money. This time though we are building on Highways land and have to comply with their criteria. And it will still come in at a sensible price. I put a lot of personal effort into ensuring we do not waste public money, as do the rest of the Parish Council, and there is only one Tory amongst us.

Comments:For years now it has always puzzled me as to why when the erection of a public building or monument must always be built at treble the price of that of an established family builder from the area . As I understand the war memorial is a dam good idea but why is it so much public money is being spent on it ? I know for a fact a local builder could erect a wall for less why must these builders approved by the local and county council be used what happened to fair competition and trade something wrong somewhere !!!

Comments:1 The red lion round about total disaster accident awaiting to happen this can only be described as a pimple on a rats a--- motorist just pull out not giving way to traffic coming from the right .a lot of motorist think that you do not drive to the left or around the mini round about but go to the right or over the top ./ Kent police could make a fortune in fines if they install a camera here keep the Crime commissioner in champagne for years . Social housing and affordable housing The villagers were told that the new housing at isles quarry known as Bangay close or Toxic terrace was going to be both SOCIAL AND PRIVATE yet we have been lied to by the Conservatives blatant lies the housing is out of reach of the average wage earner in this village 300,500 PLUS and the social housing seems to be People not of this area but from London and beyond loose talk has it that we could end up with a few immigrants from Iraq now that worrying . Comments:Whilst we would have preferred a full set of lights, a roundabout will give us changed priorities, slow down through traffic, and give us a chance to get about our village again. I don't really care if the loonies who cut through our village do crash, it will slow them down even more. Seriously though, it will make a very dangerous junction a little better. But I do agree the building was an absolute farce

Comments:Oh dear what a mess the new Seven oaks road junction Western road A25 new round round about is I understand it is going to be a mini round about something that resembles a pimple on a gnats bum That every body in Kings hill drives over or to the right of true go look for your self's At the present time it is an accident waiting to happen . Blind corner pavement and road altered already people just driving out into the path of oncoming traffic a complete disaster and a waste of tax payers money. I just hope the person who is unfortunate to have a smash here sues the council for every penny that they can get. And the person who designed it is brought to book. If this disaster is any thing to go by god help us with the other things that KCC has in store for us between Skew bridge and Dark hill I think one would be safer on the doggems at Hastings .

Comments:I like the Western Road location. A bit of space around it, easy to see, suitable place for a gathering of people. Lived in Borough Green all my life and haven't a clue where Crowhill Knob is (obviously somewhere around Crowhill!) Library and Village Hall look like it has just been crammed in somewhere. Rock Road is not a safe place from the traffic point of view, in fact, I would say dangerous.

Comments:Having been involved with Remembrance ceremonies at the Platt Memorial, it is a nightmare having cars whizzing past all the time. Others mention closing the road for a service at the Western Road site but I think you wll find that the police will not do this. They won't close the A25 at Platt, and there are two roads involved at the Western Road junction. The setting at the library will be a peaceful place for anyone wanting a quiet moment by the memorial. That would not be possible in any of the other locations apart from Crow Hill, which is too far out of the village.

Comments:This should stand proud at the entrance to the village. A visible 24/7 location has to be a better and more fitting tribute to those who gave their lives than a hidden or less visible location that is more accommodating for a once a year service. We can close roads off for the very well supported and attended Xmas lights. I am sure we could manage a similar something for the remembrance service. The western road location also has the advantage that all the passing traffic (until we get the missing slip roads) will se it too. Once we have the slip roads it would be in a more tranquil location by default. A win/win.

Comments:Looking at all 5 sites, I would say that the Western Road or the High Street location would be most suitable. Crowhill, Rock Road and behind the Library seem a little bit out of site out of mind. Western Rd has the advantage that there is greenery and a bit of space around it and also whilst being in a prominent location is slightly away from the eye if people did want some space. The High St could have an advantage that the Road could be shut off for Remembrance Day itself and therefore a little quieter however would always be overlooked if people wanted 5-10 mins throughout the year>
